Maremma Puppies For Sale
From time to time we will have Maremma Puppies available for sale.
Maremmas are bred to guard livestock. They live out in the paddock with the stock and protect them from wild dogs and other predators.
Maremmas can be bonded to just about anything. They have been used to protect penguins, chickens, horses and cattle, but are traditionally used for guarding sheep and goats.
We have ours to protect our ponies from wild dogs and dingoes, and since getting them have never lost a mare or foal to dogs.
These are not dogs for a back yard in town. They are cute and fluffy as pups but they just aren't meant to be in a small enclosure. They will bark if there is anything is around to warn it off and they will kill anything that doesn't belong and won't leave.
If socialised with the family they will be tolerant. Children are as safe with a maremma as any other breed so long as the dog is socialised. However If they are not socialised and only 1 person goes out to the dogs in the paddock ever then only that person can go out there.
Maremmas do not need to be trained to guard stock it is a natural instinct for them.
